Site guide
Agenzia per la Protezione dell'Ambiente e per i Servizi
Tecnici (agency for the protection of the environment and for
technical services, hereinafter "APAT") has developed a site
– www.apat.it – to foster communications both toward
the public administrations that are the focus of its institutional
activity (central state administrations, non-economic national
public bodies, and local bodies) and towards citizens and the
corporate world.
Site’s technical
features
The site was developed in strict HTML 4.01. The pages’
layout and visual style are regulated using CSS1 and CSS2 style
sheets limited to the features supported by the browsers. The
site’s contents are managed and published by an automatic
system, K-board ®, owned by Unicity SpA.
Accessibility and usability
The site’s design and development phases paid special
attention to the accessibility and usability features. The
site’s accessibility is designed in particular for the blind,
the vision-impaired, and those with other forms of vision
disabilities.
The accessibility features take into account the technical
specifications that currently constitute the reference most highly
credited internationally: the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) WAI
project. The www.apat.it site has been developed in compliance with
WAI’s WCAG 1.0 guidelines.
Except for errors or omissions for which APAT reserves the
right to take action, the utmost commitment was made for the pages
to comply at least with the “AA” specifications of the
WCAG 1.0 guidelines. APAT welcomes all reports or suggestions
useful for improving the level of site accessibility. Any
communication in this regard may be sent to webapat@apat.it
Display
The site is designed for display, with no appreciable
limitations, at a resolution of 800x600 (SVGA of Windows systems)
or greater.
Browser compatibility
In-depth testing was performed to check the compatibility of
different browsers, in different versions.
As far as could be ascertained, the site’s information
may be displayed properly – albeit not identically from the
purely graphic standpoint – using the following browsers, in
the indicated or subsequent versions:
Windows systems
Netscape 4x (limited graphics)
Netscape 7
Internet Explorer 5 x
Internet Explorer 6
Mozilla
Opera 5
McIntosh systems
Safari 1.0
Internet Explorer 5 x
Netscape 4x (limited graphics)
Netscape 7
Unix / Linux Systems
Netscape 4x (limited graphics)
Netscape 7
Mozilla
In addition to those expressly indicated, other browsers that
properly render the CSS1 and CSS2 style sheets may be employed,
although marginal limitations are possible.
File format
The documents are published mainly in PDF files. Consultation
requires Adobe Acrobat Reader software, available free of charge in
many languages (including Italian) and for many platforms,
including Windows, McIntosh, and Unix/Linux.
There are also compressed ZIP files and files formatted in DOC
and RTF.
Treatment of personal
data
APAT guarantees that the treatment of data – whether
acquired through e-mail or electronic forms, or by some other mode
– shall comply with the provisions of the regulations on the
protection of personal data.
The content of the communications received by APAT
(information requests, suggestions, ideas, or other materials of
any kind) shall not be considered confidential information or
data.
