HYDROLOGICAL YEARBOOKS
The Yearbook project involves the digitisation of all data
published in the Hydrological Yearbooks since 1921 in order to
create a national database. The project is still ongoing and is due
to be completed by the end of the year. An archive in PDF
format with scanned images of all the yearbooks (252,548
pages) has been created as an intermediate product.
Each Hydrological Yearbook contains data for a given year and
for the area of competence of the Departmental Office of the
National Hydrographic Service, responsible for editing and
publishing the data concerned.
The Hydrological Yearbooks from 1950 onwards and for most of the
previous years are divided into two parts: Part I: thermometry and
pluviometry;Part II: rainfall, hydrometry, hydrological capacities
and budgets, groundwater levels, sediment load, surveys,
ideological studies and exceptional events, tide measurement,
marigraphy.
The inquiry process involves selecting the Compartment referred
to by the Yearbook that the user wishes to view, followed by Part I
or II of the Hydrological Yearbook containing the data to be
viewed.
