The project “Optical Microsystems for hostile environments", realized thanks to funding for basic research, has led to the development and testing of interesting prototypes, some of which will be presented during the workshop. Those Microsystems have attractive prospects for application in various fields such as environmental control (for air, water and land), security, civil protection (from fires and volcanic eruptions) and even industrial applications for quality control.
