Law 133/2008, which converted with modifications Law by Decree 112/2008, was published in the "Gazzetta Ufficiale" n. 195 of August 21st 2008. 
Article 1 provides for the change of the denomination of IRPA into ISPRA (High Institute for Environmental Protection and Research).  ISPRA carries out the functions of the Agency for the environment protection and technical services (APAT), as stated in article 38 of the Legislative Decree n. 300 of July 30th 1999 and following modifications, of the National institute for the wild fauna (INFS) stated in the law February 11th 1992, n. 157 and following modifications, and of the Central institute for the scientific and technological research applied to the sea (ICRAM) stated in the article 1/bis of the Law by Decree December 4th 1993, n.496, converted in law, with modifications, by the article 1, paragraph 1, of the Law January 21st 1994, n. 61, with the pertaining financial, instrumental and personnel resources.
