World Environment Day
Kick the habit! Toward a low carbon economy
World Environment Day falls every year on 5 June. It
was established by the United Nations General Assembly in
1972, during the Stockholm Conference on the Human
Environment, which highlighted for the first time the
importance of the international coopertation in the environment
safeguard and led to the establishment of the United Nations
Environment Programme (UNEP).
