One of the aims of these meetings is to strengthen
Africa’s regional capabilities as well as the cohesive
implementation of IHP programmes. It will seek to create
opportunities for real output and results as well as improve the
knowledge base. It will also give rise to increased capacity and
create a family of IHP National Committees working towards a common
goal - that of resolving issues surrounding water in the region.
The Conference will also be a forum to attract attention on a
worldwide scale to water related issues in Africa.
