Torino 2006
The Organising Committee of the XX Olympic Winter Games Torino
2006 is the first organisation in the sports sector to apply the
EMAS regulations. This experience could be useful for other
sporting events, thanks to a guide line project developed with the
European Commission.
The Committee has also been appointed by the European Commission to
develop a project for the distribution of the European ecological
quality label (Ecolabel) for tourist accommodation services within
the Olympic area and in Piemonte.
